Florida Metal Roof Guide · HOMEOWNER GUIDANCE

Will a metal roof change rain noise or indoor heat?

Ask about the whole roof and the rooms below it. Insulation, attic space, ceilings, and the chosen roofing product all belong in the conversation. A material name alone cannot predict how your home will feel.

What this means for your project

The roof covering is only one part of a system that can include decking, underlayment, insulation, attic space, ventilation, and ceilings. When asking about rain noise, describe the room and what is above it. When asking about heat, ask for the proposed finish’s documented properties and how the existing attic and insulation will be assessed. Avoid assuming an energy saving or indoor temperature change without a property-specific basis. The scope should state which comfort-related work is actually included.
